Thousands of Homes Can Join the Modern Fiber Network on Favorable Terms
Estonia continues extensive fiber optic network development, enabling internet connections with speeds up to 2.5 Gbit/s. This autumn, households whose addresses are reached by Telia fiber optic cables can join a fast and future-proof internet connection on favorable terms: network connection is free and various discounts apply to several internet packages.
Telia is implementing Estonia's largest internet infrastructure development program, with the goal of bringing fiber optic connections to more than 130,000 Estonian homes between 2025–2032. Upon completion of the program, Telia's fiber optic network will be available to approximately 575,000 homes across Estonia. Currently, all customers connecting to Telia's fiber optic network benefit from discounts when signing up for 100 Mbit/s, 200 Mbit/s, 400 Mbit/s, and 1 Gbit/s packages. In addition, customers receive free router rental for a full year.
According to Roland Pauklin, head of Telia's network planning department, fiber optic cable is the most modern and highest quality way to provide internet connections.
"Fiber optic cable allows us to offer ultra-fast and stable internet connections with speeds reaching up to 2.5 gigabits per second today. This is a solution that meets both current and future internet usage needs," said Pauklin.
Quality internet has become as essential infrastructure for many families as electricity or water. Increasingly, multiple internet-consuming devices are used simultaneously in homes, and daily activities include remote work, participating in web meetings, learning in online environments, or watching high-quality video content.
"If fiber optic cable is being built in your area or is already available, I strongly recommend taking advantage of this opportunity. This is an investment that also increases your home's value and ensures the best internet solution for years to come," added Pauklin. Anyone interested can easily check the speed at which Telia home internet reaches their specific address on Telia's website www.telia.ee/koduinternet. There you can also find information about which addresses are currently experiencing Telia's internet infrastructure developments.
