A Modern Artiuse Shopping Street Opens in Downtown Tallinn in Mid-April
On April 16th, the Artius shopping street opens its doors in the heart of Tallinn, welcoming several international and local brands. The fashion brand Weekend will become the anchor tenant of Artius, opening its first premium store of 1,200 m² in the city center.
The building underwent renovation in both its exterior appearance and interior spaces, but most importantly, its concept was redesigned, with the new shopping street at its heart. Artius has a total of 9,700 m² of rentable space, with half dedicated to retail and the remainder to office spaces.
The name Artius refers to art and creativity - a philosophy that has guided the entire spatial design of the building. The goal was to create an environment where everyday shopping transforms into an experience.
"With Artius, we are creating an urban space where shopping, leisure, work, and meetings blend into one whole. In creating Artius's distinctive shopping street, we placed great emphasis on the energy of the space. This directly affects how people feel and experience the city - this is exactly the kind of inspiring and vibrant environment we wanted to bring to the city center," said Kaarel Loigu, CEO of US Real Estate.
The renovated Artius is designed as an oasis in the heart of the city, forming an important part of US Real Estate's larger Golden Line development initiative, which connects Rotermann Quarter, the port area, and the city center into a unified urban space. The shopping street running on the first floor of the building connects two important thoroughfares of the city: Rotermann Quarter and Narva Road.
"We are bringing the largest shoe selection in the city center to Artius through the Weekend Premium store with personalized shopping consultation services. The Swedish brand Fjällraven will open its first Estonian hiking and lifestyle store at Artius. We are also adding cosmetics, beauty and wellness brands, as well as premium home furnishings and household goods. All on one shopping street with great energy, to give back what is most valuable - time," he said.
Artius will also offer visitors beauty stores Pro Cosmetics and Healthy Skin, the Millenia laundry shop, Lonas bedding products store, restaurants Vapiano and St Patrick, and the KFC fast food chain.
The interior architecture of the shopping street was designed by renowned designer Marit Ilison, whose signature style is familiar from many beloved Tallinn restaurants such as Lore Bistro, UMA, PÄRIS, and La Pizzeria di Orm Oja. Additionally, under her direction, the interior of the new City Theatre building and the LaBocca restaurant at Golden Gate were completed.
In addition to the shopping street, the City Center Oasis will open at Artius in early summer – a green space that brings nature to the urban environment. The underground parking lot offers visitors 128 parking spaces.
Artius is part of US Real Estate's long-term development vision through the Golden Line initiative to shape Tallinn's city center and port area into a unified urban space of international standards.
