Los Tucanes is a new and contemporary residential development located on the Atlantic coast in Isla Canela, Andalusia, on the border between Spain and Portugal. Phase I of Los Tucanes is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2028, and Phase II in the autumn of 2028.


Available are 3-room and 4-room apartments as well as penthouses. One-bedroom apartments (equivalent to 2-room apartments by Estonian standards) have already been reserved. All apartments feature a terrace, and some apartments have two terraces. Ground-floor apartments also include a private garden ranging from 31.72 to 104.21 m². High-quality materials are used throughout the interior finishes. Kitchens are fitted with furniture and appliances, and the bedrooms include built-in wardrobes. Pre-installation for air conditioning and a smart home system is also included.


The development features well-maintained and landscaped communal areas with several swimming pools, a children’s playground and sports facilities, including padel courts and a multifunctional sports court. The complex is located within a gated community with access control. Each apartment includes one parking space, and storage rooms are available for purchase. Pre-installation for electric vehicle charging is also provided.


Isla Canela is a highly regarded resort area known for its wide sandy beaches, golf courses and marina. The beach opens directly onto the Atlantic Ocean and offers a spacious and tranquil setting. Restaurants, shops and leisure facilities are located nearby. The town of Ayamonte is just a short drive away, and the Portuguese border together with the Algarve region is in the immediate vicinity.

Prices start from approximately €280,000 plus VAT. The final price depends on the size of the apartment, its location within the building and the views.


  • The development complies with the Spanish Building Act (Ley de Ordenación de la Edificación, LOE), and buyers are covered by the statutory warranties set out in Article 17 of the LOE:
  • – 10-year warranty against structural and foundation defects
  • – 3-year warranty against defects affecting habitability
  • – 1-year warranty against finishing defects

In addition, the developer is required to maintain a ten-year building insurance policy covering potential construction defects for up to ten years.


In accordance with Spanish Royal Decree 515/1989 and Building Act 38/1999, all buyer deposits are protected by a bank guarantee. For this project, CaixaBank acts as the guarantee provider, and all buyer deposits are held in a separate bank account. This means that if anything were to happen to the developer, all deposits would be refunded to the buyer under the bank guarantee.
