YIT begins construction of new energy-efficient homes in Keila
YIT will begin construction in summer in Keila on the Põhja Street 12b plot, where by September 2022 an energy-efficient apartment building with a modern courtyard will be completed. In the five-story building, up to 37 families will find their new home.
"New electric trains are fast, quiet and environmentally friendly, which is why for several years we have seen how city development is moving along the railway network to suburban areas: Keila, Saue, Saku, but also Kohila and Rapla," says Ingrit Asavi, head of YIT Estonia's sales and customer service department. "Approximately 40 trains depart from Keila to Tallinn daily, and the mobility and public transport development plan being created today will place even more emphasis in the coming years on smooth train connections between suburban areas and the city center, which will further increase the attractiveness of Tallinn's surrounding areas for people working in the downtown in the future," explains Asavi.
The energy-efficient new development will blend in with the environment of existing homes on Põhja Street, while offering all the advantages of a new building such as thoughtful planning, low maintenance costs, good ventilation and sound insulation, and much more. There are numerous parking spaces in front of the building and along the street area.

The new B-energy class building offers home buyers the opportunity to choose from 37 practically compact and comfortable apartments. The building equipped with an elevator has both functional one-room and spacious four-room apartments, with sizes ranging from 31 to 72 square meters, each with a balcony facing different cardinal directions. Each apartment also comes with a storage room located on the first floor.
"Keila is a small town, which means that everything you need for life is always within reach. At the same time, there are all the possibilities of a large city, from the fact that several major companies operate in the town to the fact that a large shopping center with a cinema is planned to be built in the town soon," added Asavi.
In constructing the building, the expectations of investors are also taken into account – eight of the new building's 37 apartments are designed as guest apartments.
The architect of the Põhja Street 12b residential building is Janno Põldme, the building contractor is AS YIT Estonia. The homes will be completed in September 2022.
