Veskimölde residential area gets shopping center worth 4.3 million
In August, the 2200-square-meter Veskimölde Home Center, costing 4.3 million euros, will open in the Veskimölde residential area, featuring a community grocery store as its anchor tenant instead of typical chain supermarkets.
According to Kaupo Kindsigo, the owner of Veskimölde Home Center and head of Alliku Commerce, the Veskimölde residential area opened in 1998, and over 23 years, the district has become home to 8000 people, which is why it was long overdue to establish its own home shopping center.
"We conducted a survey among local residents, and 500 people gave us their feedback on what kind of center and grocery store they were expecting. The vast majority did not want a typical chain supermarket. We took people's wishes into account, and a very special community grocery store will open in Veskimölde Home Center, where local residents also have the opportunity to participate as investors if they wish," said Anne-Ly Kandelin, manager of the Veski Market grocery store opening in the center. "The survey of local residents showed that most want to see quality local organic products, and we will certainly put special emphasis on that," said Kandelin.
In addition to the grocery store, the center will feature a beauty and massage salon, a pharmacy, package lockers, flower, cheese and French quality wine shops, and a café. Additionally, a 200-square-meter event space with an outdoor terrace will be opened for hosting events and celebrations.
According to the head of Alliku Commerce, Veskimölde Home Center, located in Laagri on the edge of Tallinn, is also easily accessible for residents of Saue, Tabasalu, and Saku, and a leisure center is planned to be built next to it in the future. Veskimölde Home Center will open on August 26th.
