Kinnisvara24 statistics: these real estate listings received the most clicks in 2020

Last year significantly changed the real estate preferences of Estonian people – this is confirmed by the annual summary of the Kinnisvara24.ee portal, which shows that the TOP 10 most-clicked real estate listings in 2020 were dominated by country houses and vacation home listings.

„If generally the most popular real estate objects are apartments and houses located in larger cities, then last year was special. The TOP 10 reflects very well the real estate trends of last year. Remote work allows people to work from a distance and people want to distance themselves due to the virus. Therefore, people are looking for a country house or a house located near a major center, which would have an extra large plot," explained Kinnisvara24.ee CEO Katrin Aron.

10 real estate objects that generated the most interest for people in 2020 and most of which have also been sold:

• Small house in Kiviõl – the listing was viewed more than 250,000 times
• Tiny old house in Viljandi County in Mulgi Municipality
• Renovated farmhouse near Rannu in Tartu County
• Log house intended for relocation in Elva
• Residential land and small vacation home in Lüganuse, Ida-Viru County
• Large plot with old house in Saue, Harju County
• Affordable house in Pääsküla, Tallinn
• House with an especially large plot near Pärnu
• Tourism farm with large property in a scenic location in Võru County
• Luxury house with large plot in Hiiu, Tallinn

According to Katrin Aron, buyers prefer large plots with a rather modest small old house. „Properties with old houses are more affordable and offer the opportunity to start from scratch and build a home according to your own preferences. People want to buy objects with large properties where they can live privately and safely, without coming into contact with strangers," she added.

The Land Board's statistics also confirm that in 2020 the average area of built-up land plots purchased was larger than the land plots purchased in 2019.

Kinnisvara24 is Estonia's second-largest real estate portal founded in 2018, which is visited by over 400,000 visitors every month.
