The Flagpole Adds Dignity to Home

Every home is somewhat unique and there are many ways to make your own house more special. However, a nice and dignified home should certainly include a proper flagpole. A flagpole and a national flag gently waving in the breeze gives a special feeling and makes every home dignified.
What should you know about flagpoles?
Nowadays, the most common flagpoles are made of fiberglass, which are light and strong and very durable in our climate conditions.
Monolithic (one-piece) flagpoles are generally 6 meters long and reach up to 12 meters. The length of the flagpole is recommended to be chosen according to the height of the house roof ridge so that the flagpole length is approximately 1 m longer than the height of the house roof ridge. A flagpole slightly taller than the house draws more attention to itself and is better visible.
External and internal rope systems are used as rope systems for flagpoles. A more expensive solution is the internal rope system, the main advantage of which is that the flagpole is quieter with stronger winds and is also somewhat more convenient to use. At the same time, a properly installed external rope system solution also works excellently.
In addition, when choosing the location of the flagpole, you should consider that the flagpole should be able to be lowered to one side both during installation and later for maintenance purposes, and there should be space for this. If the flagpole is 12 m, then finding free space can often be difficult.

A flagpole is generally installed in the area facing the main facade of the house so that it is also nicely visible from the street. During installation, you should certainly also consider trees located on the property or in its immediate vicinity and especially their height, so that the flagpole remains visible.
However, for larger plots, a suitable location is sought on some hill or even in the inner courtyard. Each household must find the exact location of the flagpole themselves.
Flagpoles are sold with a set of installation accessories, which also includes detailed installation instructions, and with their help, pole installation is feasible for any handy person.
Fiberglass flagpoles are mostly white in color, but it is also possible to order them in other color tones and longer than 12 m, but then it is a special order, which means a significant price increase.
In addition to fiberglass flagpoles, metal flagpoles are also available on the market – aluminum flagpoles as well as, for example, wooden masts.
NB! A flagpole or wall bracket (or a flag holder) is required to obtain a building permit for a house, because every house must have one.
Although a wall bracket or flag holder is somewhat cheaper, a proper flagpole separate from the house is certainly more beautiful and makes the home more dignified.
