Tallinn Seeks Architectural Ideas for New Service Center in Annelinn
Domus Kinnisvara subsidiary Emajõe Ärilinnak OÜ is organizing a detailed plan together with Tartu City Government for the properties at Anne Street 46, 46a, 48 and 48a in Annelinn. In accordance with the city's master plan, the current asphalt wasteland should transform into a regional business center within a few years, creating offices, service and retail spaces for companies in very different fields.
"Tartu city's master plan states very clearly the goal of diversifying the monofunctional Annelinn, bringing residents conveniently closer to both new jobs and services," says Ingvar Allekand, member of the Domus Kinnisvara management board. This reduces traffic congestion and city residents save time spent on daily logistics. Allekand adds that both the developer and the city government are jointly interested in ensuring that the created business center is architecturally of high quality, with well-thought-out solutions, and therefore attractive to both future employees and clients.
The business center will feature low-rise development of up to 3 stories, characterized by a birch alley along Lõhmus Street and an open gallery between buildings within the block for pedestrians. To find the best architectural solution, an invited-participants architecture competition will be held. The best competition work is expected to be selected in March and will be taken into account when preparing the detailed plan.
