Tammsaare Health Center is becoming one of the region's largest family medicine centers
The Tammsaare Health Center being built in Mustamäe is growing into one of the district's largest family doctor centers, bringing together a significant number of family doctor practices and a wide range of primary healthcare services under one roof. The 6-story health center under construction and due for completion in a year will serve more than 100,000 residents at the border of Mustamäe, Õismäe and Kristiine districts.
A large number of family doctor offices have already joined Tammsaare Health Center, and interest from new practices is active. Together with laboratory services, dental care, optometry, physiotherapy and other healthcare services, the building will form a comprehensive primary care center where patients can conveniently complete a large part of their healthcare journey from a single location.
"The role of primary healthcare is constantly growing, and easily accessible and functional family doctor centers are critical to the functioning of the entire healthcare system. Tammsaare Health Center will meaningfully address this need in the region," says Maido Lüiste, CEO of Scandium Real Estate.
Considering that a single family doctor's patient list averages around 2,000 patients, the health center will generate daily and natural demand for laboratory tests, diagnostics and other supporting healthcare services. For example, the fact that family doctors and SYNLAB are located in the same building allows patients to provide blood and other samples immediately after their appointment, making the treatment process faster and more convenient and reducing the need for separate trips.
"Our goal is to create a modern health center in this area where thoughtfully combined services create the conditions for close cooperation from which both doctors and patients benefit," adds Lüiste. A significant portion of the health center's rental space has already been occupied, but thanks to the size of the building, there is room for other service providers as well.
Tammsaare Health Center is part of the Mustamäe Heart business and residential quarter development and has direct connection to Mustamäe Center. This allows healthcare services to naturally integrate with people's daily movements and errands in the region, which would be the third most populous independent city by population in Estonia.
