The Winners of the Noblessner Waterfront Buildings and Urban Space Architecture Competition Have Been Revealed
The first place in the Noblessner international architecture competition was won by the architecture bureau Kadarik Tüür Arhitektid. The purpose of the public architecture competition was to find a representative, elegant and timeless solution for buildings on the Lennusadam 7 and 9 plots and the surrounding public outdoor space.
Four buildings with apartments and commercial spaces rise directly on the Noblessner waterfront, which with their impressive cantilevered sections extend over the sea promenade to the waterline. Part of the competition site literally extends into the sea and includes several historically protected technical structures dating back to the historical Noblessner submarine factory.
A total of 22 high-level competition entries were received for the architecture competition. Of the anonymously submitted designs, 15 are from authors in Estonia, and seven competition works were received from foreign architecture bureaus from Finland, Germany, Latvia, Italy and other countries. Eight awards were distributed, and the prize fund totaled 155,000 euros.
