Tallinn's Downtown Office Building at Narva Street 7a Underwent Renovation
Thamme Villa is a unique and historically accurate small residential building in the heart of Tallinn, located at Mardi 3. The wooden building is undergoing a thorough renovation that will preserve the house's historical authenticity while implementing all necessary modern updates to create comfortable and contemporary urban homes.
Only 10 distinctive two- to five-room apartments are coming to market, two of which are located in the villa's green inner courtyard in a unique limestone courtyard building.
The living environment being created here is, in a special paradoxical way, like a small oasis with its own private enclosed courtyard and charming secret garden in the midst of the city center's tall towers, energetic rhythm of life, dynamic urban culture, and diverse opportunities. The surrounding area features respected schools (Tallinn Real Gymnasium, Tallinn English College, Tallinn 21st School, Kadriorg German Gymnasium), kindergartens (Mardi Kindergarten, Tallinn Dreams Kindergarten, Liivamäe Kindergarten), sports clubs, and parks.

Extract from the original Mardi 3 project
Thamme Villa has been named after Johann Nicolai Thamme, one of Estonia's most respected architects, who was born in 1834 in Tallinn and graduated from the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts in 1860. From 1872 onwards, he worked as an architect in Tallinn, where he designed many buildings in the Old Town and city center, many of which have survived to this day and are protected monuments.
The historicist Thamme Villa with neo-Renaissance elements was completed in 1885. The main composition of the building's facades is emphatically symmetrical, with proportional treatment derived from classical stone architecture. On all four corners is a semi-tower with a wide cornice typical of neo-Renaissance architecture, but rarely seen in wooden buildings. The Thamme Villa building was one of the largest and most representative wooden houses in the area at its time.
Architectural history has found an interesting reflection in contemporary times, and the redesign of Thamme Villa has been planned by the AB Ansambel team under the guidance of equally renowned architect Toivo Tammik.
