Purtsé Restaurant Opens Its Doors by Telliskivi Park with a New Concept
Purtse restaurant with a new look opened its doors in Telliskivi TLN's I1 building. With an open kitchen, a wide selection of craft beers, and now also food offerings, Purtse will focus on community and events.
The place's driving force and experienced restaurant entrepreneur Laura Tsugart (Von Krahli Aed and Baar, Mimosa, Hets Toidutuba) says that creating the new venue took time, but the result was worth the wait.
„The Purtse tap room, which was located in the M building that closed for reconstruction, only offered drinks. Now we have our own kitchen and the ability to host larger groups. We wanted to create a beer restaurant that would be comfortable and cozy. A place where you can come to eat, but equally well just for a drink. Purtse restaurant is rather everyday than festive, for meeting friends on a regular basis," describes Tsugart.
The restaurant with 40 seats has already welcomed visitors during the soft opening phase – both the bar and kitchen are open.
Beer-focused, but open to everyone
All draft beers come from Purtse Brewery, with eight special selections available on tap at any time, supplemented by seasonal offerings. In addition, there is a large selection of canned beers for both on-site consumption and takeaway. However, Purtse is not just a place for beer enthusiasts – the menu takes into account visitors who prefer wine, champagne, or cocktails.
According to Tsugart, the cooperation with the brewery is close and very creative. „When a new beer comes out from Purtse, we are always the first to introduce it. We are also planning beer tasting dinners and creating interesting connections with food – for example, we make our gingerbread dough with Purtse beer. It is important to us that this is a living and constantly evolving place," she explains.
Life happens in Telliskivi
According to Laura, Purtse's choice to settle in Telliskivi TLN is precisely because of the environment. „Telliskivi is the new city center. Life happens here – locals, families, young people, workers, tourists. Everyone finds something, whether it's events, shops, art, padel or skating. We like that there is activity here even when the old town can be quieter."
Purtse wants to be a community place where people come for an end-of-work-day drink, for regular events or to meet friends. The plan also includes memory games, themed evenings and seasonal celebrations from Men's Day to Father's Day.
The green urban environment of Telliskivi TLN is also an important value. „Telliskivi park and its development is a huge plus for visitors. In summer we can open an outdoor terrace facing the park, which adds 20-30 seats to the restaurant. People value green surroundings, especially in the city," notes Tsugart.
Telliskivi TLN lease manager Katrina Šokman says that Purtse's addition to the I1 building further enriches the area's selection of food establishments and entertainment. „Telliskivi's strength lies in its diversity. Purtse beer restaurant is exactly the kind of place that appeals to many at once – warm, personal and open to the community. After Moon, Glam and now Purtse's addition by Telliskivi park, Telliskivi district's restaurant selection has taken several big steps forward and creates increasingly more reasons for people to come to this area to enjoy good food," says Šokman.
