Real estate development company Pro Kapital held a topping-out ceremony in Tallinn on Tond for the General's Houses series in the Kristiine City residential quarter that is nearing completion. By the end of this year, the first building of the New-General's project will be completed with 90 apartments and one commercial space at the address Talli 3/Sammu 8.

According to Maria Varblane, the marketing and sales director of Pro Kapital, construction of the building began in May of last year, and to date, 58% of the apartments have been sold. "Pro Kapital has been developing in Kristiine City for over ten years, and the New-General's Houses project is a logical continuation of the previously completed General's Houses building complex – both the concept and the architects are the same," she noted. According to Varblane, one can expect some revival in Tallinn's real estate market this spring, because on the one hand, home loan interest rates are continuing to decline, and on the other hand, it is logical that people want to purchase their new homes before July 1st, when there will be another increase in the VAT added to the price of new residential space up to 24 percent.

According to Maria Varblane, the new phase of the General's Houses, or New-General's, with its small-town character, brings both some of the liveliness of the city center and the peace of home to Kristiine City. The building being constructed is 7 stories tall and contains 1-5 room apartments. On the ground floor there are studio apartments with separate entrances, and most of the homes have balconies or loggias. Next to the buildings are outdoor bicycle parking areas and secure storage rooms inside the buildings for bicycles and baby carriages.

The modern New-General's buildings with Scandinavian architecture are framed by an alley of trees and tall ground-floor apartments and commercial space characteristic of the Brooklyn neighborhood of New York City, which open directly onto the street space. On the other hand, between the buildings is a spacious and private courtyard area with fruit trees, berry bushes, cozy seating areas and play areas, which offers joy and activities for everyone.

The lead architect and landscape architect for both the New-General's and General's Houses buildings is Indrek Tiigi, Allianss Architects and the interior architect is Galina Burnakova. More information about the New-General's Houses can be found here.

In Estonia, Pro Kapital currently has, in addition to the New-General's building, another object under construction – the development of the final phase of Kalaranna Quarter. The company is also engaged in developments in Riga and Vilnius.

Pro Kapital Group is a publicly listed company with a history of operation spanning more than 30 years, which creates city space-enriching, comprehensive and diverse living environments in the best locations of the Baltic capitals. The company has developed approximately 270,000 m2 of real estate and has a real estate portfolio of approximately the same size awaiting further development.
