Investland Bali, an Estonian business-focused real estate development company on the Indonesian island of Bali, opened an office with 30 employees and simultaneously launched a construction management firm called Constructland, which offers building services with European standards and quality in the exotic island nation.

According to Investland Bali partner Kristjan Ploompuu, Investland Bali currently has six of its own development projects underway. "We hired 30 people this year – both Estonians and local staff – and opened a new office this week. The biggest new business direction is establishing our own construction management firm Constructland, which employs both local top architects and experienced Estonian construction directors and project managers," Ploompuu added.

"Most of our own real estate development buyers are from outside Indonesia, including many from Estonia, which is why European building standards and quality are very important. We spent the last year obtaining an Indonesian construction license, which is quite an expensive and complicated process. Even though most foreign construction companies operating here don't actually meet the requirements regarding qualifications, capital, or licenses, we did everything correctly – work permits, required investments, and monthly reporting. Today we are officially VAT taxpayers and we operate as we should," commented Investland Bali partner Kristjan Ploompuu.

"We also pay significantly higher salaries than average and offer better working conditions. In addition, we have made investments in foreign workers – their registration is expensive and complicated, but necessary. Immigration and tax policy cannot be overlooked here," he explained.

"The construction market here is actually very large, and Constructland not only manages Investland's own developments, but is already involved in several other projects – from construction, architectural solutions, and design to owner supervision. We offer construction services for both individual houses and larger projects ranging from commercial to industrial," added Investland Bali partner Oliver Heliste.

"If you want different results, you have to use different tools. For example, for ventilation solutions, we brought to Bali the most modern diamond drilling and cutting equipment, which had never been seen here before," said Heliste.

The construction management company Constructland is part of the Investland Bali group, which deals with real estate management and development on Bali. Investland's newest project is Element Residence, a luxury real estate development with 107 apartments and lofts, which is the largest Estonian investment in Asia's real estate sector in history.
