Housing development company Bonava is beginning construction of the Nõmmemäe project on the property at Mäepealse 9, on the border between Mustamäe and Nõmme, where a community garden will also be created in the courtyard and rainwater collection solutions will be implemented.

In the first phase, two A-energy class buildings will be completed with a total of 92 apartments, with homes ready for occupancy by the end of 2026. In total, three 8-story residential buildings with 138 apartments are planned for the area.

According to Bonava's sales and marketing manager Lauri Laanoja, Bonava has continued its strategy in this project as well to create solutions in its developments that promote mutual activities and community spirit while protecting the environment.

„The Nõmmemäe neighborhood will consist of buildings with distinctive architecture, and in the courtyard area with the surrounding varied landscape, in addition to a playground, there will be rest areas for adults and the opportunity to work from an outdoor office, as well as a community garden with a greenhouse and planting boxes where residents can grow their favorite produce," explains Laanoja. „Inside the buildings, residents will have access to a shared sports room and a bicycle and dog washing room, which was planned directly based on feedback collected from project interested parties."

The selection of homes includes apartments with enclosed, semi-enclosed and open balconies, as well as homes with spacious terraces. „Following the launch of sales in spring, there has been active interest in the project, nearly half of the homes in the first building put on the market have found new owners. Many clients have chosen our project precisely because of its nature-close location, the Nõmme sports center and the greenery of the Harku health trails are within a short walk," describes Bonava's sales and marketing manager.

Great emphasis has been placed on sustainability in the Nõmmemäe project, the apartments have carefully thought-out planning, parking has been moved to an underground garage, and rainwater collection solutions that save water have been used in the courtyard area. Plant species with long flowering periods were selected, as well as fruit trees and bushes that would support bird species diversity.

Nõmmemäe is one of three projects that Bonava has begun construction on in Estonia this year. In spring, construction of the 10th phase of Uus-Mustamäe began, and in September, the groundbreaking ceremony took place for the first phase of the Kirsiõue development in Saku.
