Merko's New Lahekalda Apartment Buildings Reached Full Height
The Lahekalda residential quarter developed by Merko on Maarjamäe cliff is already home to 300 families. Now the topping-out ceremony was held for the first two eight-story buildings in the development area – at addresses Paekalda 23/1 and Paekalda 23/2, a total of 98 apartments will be completed.
Merko is building the Lahekalda quarter (merko.ee/lahekalda) in Tallinn near the Song Festival Grounds on Maarjamäe cliff, with a protected green area remaining around the new homes. A modern and comprehensive living environment combines the work of several top Estonian architects, and what makes it an attractive place to live is its proximity to the city center, Kadriorg and Pirita, as well as convenient access from Narva Road.
"Wonderful sea and city views, a naturally green living environment, proximity to the Pirita health trail, sea promenade, numerous cultural, sports and leisure opportunities, and quick connections to the city center are what bring clients to Lahekalda," listed the advantages of the quarter Ines Prual, development manager for Lahekalda.
In the future, the City of Tallinn plans to build Tallinn Hospital in the immediate vicinity of Lahekalda, and the development area will be surrounded by a section of the planned cliff park that will be nearly nine kilometers long. The development of the area creates additional opportunities for Lahekalda residents in terms of employment, consumption of services near home, and leisure activities.
The architectural solution for the Paekalda 23 energy class A apartment buildings has been created by the Architecture Bureau PLUSS architects, and the authors of the interior finishing packages are LÄVI interior architects. Merko is building landscaped rest areas around the buildings for adults and children and will install solar panels on the roofs of both buildings.
For the approximately 17-hectare Lahekalda development area, up to a quarter hundred modern residential buildings with more than a thousand apartments will be completed in stages. The new residential quarter also plans for the construction of a kindergarten and a home store. In the six completed buildings to date, nearly 300 families live, and construction of two more buildings with 98 apartments is underway.
With more than thirty years of activity, Merko has built nearly 9,000 quality homes in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania and created a better living environment for thousands. To ensure quality and apartment buyer comfort, we manage all stages of apartment development from planning and designing new projects to building apartments, sales and warranty period service. The larger residential quarters under construction are Uus-Veerenni and Lahekalda. Information about all Merko development projects can be found at merko.ee/kodud.
