Merko Started Building a Kindergarten in Uus-Veeremae
A new and modern kindergarten building is being completed in the summer of 2023 in the Uus-Veerenni residential quarter located in Tallinn's city center. Merko's total investment in building a kindergarten that offers additional conveniences to Uus-Veerenni residents amounts to five million euros.
A competition is underway to find an operator for the new kindergarten. At address Tiiu 8, the opening time of the kindergarten starting its operations and other details for using the kindergarten spot will be clarified according to plans this autumn. Decisions will be made by the kindergarten developer Merko in cooperation with the partner who will run the new preschool institution in the future.
„Uus-Veerenni will be home to approximately as many people as there are residents in Rapl. A neighborhood kindergarten offers significant additional convenience for families with children," confirmed Alar Toomik, development manager of the Uus-Veerenni residential quarter. "The surroundings of their apartment and home are very important to home buyers. We are developing Uus-Veerenni in such a way that in addition to quality homes, our client also gets convenient urban space and necessary services near their home," added Toomik.
The new modern kindergarten complex will be built for approximately 150 children. The two-story building and its adjoining outdoor area border the park area being built by Merko. The long-awaited childcare institution in the area is primarily intended for residents of Uus-Veerenni apartment buildings, but if free spots remain, it will offer the possibility for children from the wider neighborhood as well.
Uus-Veerenni (merko.ee/veerenni) is Tallinn's city center's largest comprehensive residential development area, located between Veerenni, Vana-Lõuna and Tehnika streets. In this quarter, which is being completed in stages and has a total area of approximately 12 hectares, there will be about 50 residential buildings. To date, residents have moved into more than 20 buildings and construction of 15 apartment buildings is underway.
In addition to residential buildings with diverse architecture, Merko is building new streets and movement paths for pedestrians and cyclists in Uus-Veerenni. As a supplement to the greenery and interior courtyards built between residential buildings, a public park of over 8,500 square meters will be completed this autumn, featuring play attractions for children of different ages and a rest area for adults. Among buildings for public use, the construction of the Uus-Veerenni commercial building is being prepared.
