One of Estonia's largest accommodation companies, Larsen, has opened a novel mini-storage service in its newest hostel in Tallinn, where you can store both seasonal clothes and hobby cars. The concept of combining accommodation with storage rooms of various sizes fills a gap that previously existed in the market.

Indrek Raave, Larsen's project manager, explained that the combination of accommodation and mini-storage services in the same building is new for Estonia, and the idea emerged while designing the building. "Larsen's concept in designing our own buildings has been to compensate for small accommodation space with multifunctional common areas where you can spend time, work, exercise, or interact with other residents. When we had surplus construction volume on the -1 floor that was permitted by the detailed plan, it seemed entirely logical to offer clients, in addition to accommodation, the opportunity to store their belongings," said Raave.

The mini-storage units located in Larsen's Sume building are intended for both hostel clients and anyone else who needs additional space for storing their belongings. The storage rooms were designed taking into account the most diverse possible needs.

"We offer storage spaces of very different sizes so they can be used by those who want to store winter tires or seasonal clothes, as well as those who, for example, need to temporarily store a flat's worth of furniture due to a move, or even a hobby car that needs a warm and secure garage for winter," explained Raave.

The company does not exclude expanding the storage service to other Larsen buildings or establishing a separate mini-storage complex in Tallinn. "From this pilot project, we want to gain a better understanding of people's needs and wishes regarding storage box layout so that we can apply this knowledge to storage spaces built in the future. If the storage service is received as well as it currently seems, we will expand the service elsewhere," said Raave. He added that interest in the storage units has been great.

The Larsen Sume hostel contains a total of 86 storage boxes. Larsen's mini-storage, which carries the name "Kuubik Minilaod," is located in a separately locked room that can only be accessed with a personal access code, and the client additionally locks their box with a padlock. Additional security is provided by video surveillance. The storage rooms are heated and ventilated and are accessible 24/7.

To book a storage box, you must select a suitable storage box type on Larsen's website, fill out a booking form, sign a contract, and then you can start using the storage box immediately. The access code is sent to the client's email before the rental period begins.

One of Estonia's largest accommodation companies, Larsen, opened the Tallinn Sume hostel this August. The investment amounted to 10 million euros. The Sume building now houses 132 apartment-style accommodation rooms and 86 storage boxes of various sizes. Sume is located next to Tallinn Zoo and near the Rocca al Mare Shopping Center at the address Ehitajate tee 140.

Larsen's portfolio currently includes five buildings in Tallinn with over 600 studio-style furnished accommodation rooms with kitchenettes. The company invests with local capital, and its investors include well-known entrepreneurs and investors such as Sven Lennart Alpstål, Kristjan Vilosius, Andres Linnasaar, and Jevgeni Kabanov.
