Simple Tips for Deep Cleaning the Bathroom
A clean and sparkling bathroom puts you in a good mood right from the morning. A tired and grimy bathroom, however, can actually harm your health, because life forms that you don't want to know anything about start to thrive in a damp, uncleaned space. Let's clean up the bathroom together and make everything spotless. You'll need a good amount of baking soda, vinegar, cleaning cloths, a piece of dental floss, and if you wish, a general cleaning agent as well.
Dental floss? We'll get to that soon.
First, take a large basket or laundry bin and put all the bottles, jars, and other loose items into it. The goal is to make all the surfaces as clear as possible.
Next, dust everything. Once that's done, put on your gloves and start cleaning!
Showerhead
Take a plastic bag, fill it with a strong vinegar solution, and tie it to your showerhead. If you have a shower where the head isn't attached to the ceiling or wall, you can soak the head in a small bowl. The showerhead is constantly wet, and microorganisms can settle into its small holes, which definitely shouldn't live there. That's why it's good to give the head a vinegar bath from time to time. While you're at it, you can also get rid of limescale.
Shower Curtain
Take the curtain (yes, even a regular plastic one) and throw it in the washing machine for a bit along with a couple of hand towels. The towels will nicely scrub away soap and water stains from your curtain, and they'll get clean themselves too.
Shower Doors
Take a portion of baking soda and add a few drops of vinegar to make a paste. Apply it to the shower glass and let it sit for about an hour. Rinse it off and polish it dry with a microfiber cloth.
Ceiling
Take a duster and sweep the ceiling and its corners clean. If necessary, wipe it over with a cloth.

Walls
If your bathroom has ceramic tiles, do this: spray the tiles with a general cleaning agent and turn on the hot water from the shower. Let it run until the room is nice and steamy. Let the cleaning agent and steam do their work for the next 20 minutes, but step out of the bathroom yourself. You don't want to breathe in all that steam. Afterward, wipe the tiles clean with a cleaning cloth.
If you're against household chemicals and prefer natural cleaning agents, then clean the tiles and grout with vinegar. This video, which lasts less than a minute, proves that it's possible.
Toilet
We hope you have a large package of baking soda on hand, because now we're pouring a good amount of it into the toilet. Let the baking soda work for a bit and scrub the bowl clean with a brush. If your toilet has started leaking and water doesn't stay in place well, get it fixed at the first opportunity. If limescale has built up on the toilet bowl, you can get rid of it by pouring vinegar on a piece of toilet paper and placing it on the limescale. Let it sit for a while, remove the paper, and scrub clean with a brush.
Unscrew the seat from its bolts and wash it properly. Did you see what kind of mess came out from between the bolts?
Toilet Brush
Do you really clean it often enough? This amusing video will teach you how to do it.
Sink and Faucet
You can clean the sink with a paste made from vinegar and baking soda as well. If limescale has formed around the faucet, use the same trick as with the toilet: pour vinegar on a cotton pad or toilet paper and place it on the limescale. Let it sit and wipe clean.
And now we're taking out the dental floss. You didn't guess where we were going to use it, did you? Take the dental floss between your two hands and clean the connection between the sink and the faucet. Yes, that's right, that troublesome spot where that pesky brown limescale tends to accumulate.
The sink drain is a bacterial bomb. Pour vinegar generously into it and let it sit.
Hand Towels
Always dry towels properly by hanging them up flat, not scrunched up. They'll dry faster that way.
Don't keep towels near the toilet, because when you flush, a whole cloud of... well, water from the toilet flies toward your towel. In any case, it's smart to flush with the toilet seat closed.
Change your towels every three to four days and wash them in as hot water as allowed.
Ventilation Vent
Remove the cover and clean it with a vacuum. Now take a cloth and wipe everything over once more.
Bottles and Jars
Wash these on the outside as well and put them back in their place. The fewer of these you have visible, the better for your eye, so check whether everything is really necessary. Maybe you could replace some questionable liquid with a scented candle instead?
Mirror
First wipe the dust off it. Then make a solution of equal parts vinegar and water and spray it on the mirror. Polish it with a microfiber cloth until it shines.
Floor
Clean the floor as you normally would, but this time pay attention to every crack and corner.
Bath Mat
Take the mat out of the washing machine and let it dry. We forgot to ask you to put it in the machine earlier, but we see you were smart enough to do it yourself.
