Lahekalda residential quarter is the most sold development project in Tallinn this year
Since the beginning of 2025, according to Citify data, 76 families have purchased new homes in Lahekalda, which is more than the number of apartments sold in any other new development in Tallinn. Merko continues construction of residential buildings and living environment in Lahekalda, and starting today, apartments in the Paekalda 15 building have been added to the sales offering.
Lahekalda is located between Kadriorg and Pirita on the beautiful natural elevation of Maarjamäe. The private residential quarter is situated away from city traffic and is surrounded by a green zone, where the City of Tallinn plans to build a limestone park. Lahekalda's sales success has been brought by a unique opportunity to build your own home on the edge of the city center, yet live in a quiet and functional neighborhood surrounded by greenery.
„Lahekalda is a thoughtfully designed, comfortable and elegant environment where it is safe to live and everything you need is nearby. In Lahekalda, home does not end at the apartment door, but continues around the residential buildings. Every new client who comes to view the apartments on the upper floors of Lahekalda is genuinely surprised by the magnificent city views and the beauty of the public space we have created. The extraordinary panoramic view is enabled by Lahekalda's location on the Maarjamäe limestone cliff, which is more than 40 meters higher than Pirita promenade," said Irina Piirmets, sales manager of the Lahekalda residential quarter.
Next to be completed in Lahekalda are two 8-story buildings at addresses Paekalda 15 and 17 with a total of 105 apartments. When the new buildings are completed in autumn 2026, apartments are still available in the Paekalda 19 and 21 buildings, some of which are furnished and allow immediate move-in.
Lahekalda is like a safe and modern small town in the middle of a larger city. In the quarter, contemporary architecture and quality apartments are combined with the greenery of the private area and a cozy and functional home environment. The residential buildings of Lahekalda are positioned at angles to each other to expand the views from the windows of Tallinn Bay and the city skyline or the surrounding nature.
The public space created between the buildings offers many opportunities – courtyards with rest and movement areas, a community garden, an alley of swings, an outdoor gym and a large reed sculpture welcoming those entering the quarter inspire the development of community spirit and distinguish Lahekalda from other residential neighborhoods.
Merko has been building the Lahekalda quarter since 2019. To date, 2–3-room apartments have been the most in demand. There are already families who have moved from one Lahekalda building to a larger apartment in the next building as their family grew. Clients, especially those who have made repeat purchases, emphasize the importance of a good neighborhood as a factor influencing their purchase decision and a balanced price-to-quality ratio.
In total, Merko is building nearly twenty-five new apartment buildings in Lahekalda with more than a thousand apartments, of which nearly 500 have been completed so far. In the future, Lahekalda will also have a local shop, kindergarten and spacious park areas.
The completed apartments in the Paekalda 19 and Paekalda 21 buildings can be visited at the client day on November 25.
