How to Organize a Pleasant Garden Party with Little Effort

Is there anything more pleasant than garden parties? Certainly not! Of course, that's if you happen to be a guest. If you're in the role of host, it can turn out that instead of a nice evening spent with friends, you get stress and a headache instead.
We'll help you avoid the worry and give you advice on how to organize a memorable party with simple means that brings joy to both your guests and yourself.
A Large Table
Not every household has a sufficiently large table. However, this can be easily made if you have two trestles in your shed and something that resembles a tabletop. Rough items work wonderfully for a garden party. Especially if they're covered with nice patterned linen.

Another option is to place several smaller tables next to each other and you have a large table. Cover it with white linen and no one will figure out what's underneath.
Ice Bucket
Yay, this is where you can let your imagination run wild! For an ice bucket you can choose anything – an old pot, a garden cart, buckets or even old apple crates lined with plastic from the inside. You only need plenty of ice to fill them. And of course bottles of lemonade or cider.
You can throw flower petals into the ice as decoration or why not also cherries or currants.
Candles and Lanterns
Summer nights are slowly getting longer and candles are back in fashion both indoors and outdoors. Buy cheap large candles and decorate them with handy materials, such as wildflowers or grass. Just make sure your decorations aren't a fire hazard!

If you have lanterns at home, they work beautifully as mood creators. Just put candles in them and your garden will be both cozy and festive at the same time.
Wildflowers
Collect a large bouquet of field or garden flowers together with the children and make table and other decorations from them. You can again use handy materials as vases – for example old milk or juice pitchers and glass bottles.

Another option is to line up bottles and stick a couple of flower stems in each one. So beautiful!
Sangriaaaaa!
Sangria is a delicious summer drink that suits any garden party. Check out a simple recipe and preparation method from this video.
Grill
Arrange things so that the grilling area isn't too far from the party table. That way all the party guests are together nicely and no one feels left out.

Themed Party
Even a summer garden party can have a theme that creates excitement and provides plenty of conversation material.

Perhaps you'll find a favorite party theme among these:
- Blue, red, yellow or another color
- Black and white
- The 80s or 90s
- Gypsies
- Hippies
- Africa
- Christmas and elves
- Wigs
- Texas (on legs, back, table etc.)
- Masquerade ball
- Dresses
- Characters from a book or film
Games

Summer parties have one more advantage over winter ones – you can play outdoor games. For example, pétanque, mölkky, dart games or some other simple yet fun game that brings the group together and includes both children and adults.
