How to Stay Motivated Throughout the Year

Did you promise yourself to stay motivated and efficient throughout 2020? Sounds good, right? Let's see how to stay motivated for the entire year.

Be active

Many real estate agents struggle with lack of motivation because they wait for something to happen instead of being active and taking initiative themselves. This can result in an agent not directing their own activities or career.

Don't be in the role of reacting to events, but take the bull by the horns and create a plan for what you want to accomplish over the year, quarter, and month.

To break down big plans into more concrete parts, set a detailed plan every Friday for what you'll do the following week. Success experiences motivate you to take on new things.

Create multiple income sources for yourself

Don't put all your eggs in one basket, because if something happens to that market segment, the same will happen to your income. Invest in yourself, educate and develop yourself to become a versatile real estate expert who is competent in more than one field.

Take care of your health

When your body and mind are in top shape, so are your results and motivation. Body and mind peak condition is easily achieved when you eat sufficient amounts of tasty and healthy food, sleep enough, and exercise regularly. Daily meditation minutes don't hurt either. It's that simple.

Pay close attention now, because we're telling you something we've experienced firsthand, and we're not just talking here for nothing: establish a habit of waking up earlier and doing 20 minutes of a workout that makes you sweat.

If you don't want to run in the dark, do a HIIT workout on your living room floor (there are plenty of videos about it on YouTube) and your body and, more importantly, your mind will thank you for it all day long! Try it even once and you'll see that on that day you'll be in a better mood and you'll be much, much more motivated and productive.

Encourage yourself

Our first thought was to write "Think positively," but you probably wouldn't have read on because you think you've already heard enough about positive thinking.

Actually, we want to talk about the fact that negative thoughts create anxiety and many other bad things and don't help motivation in any way.

If you want to take things really seriously, write a few positive affirmations in your notebook every morning. You might think that's silly right now, but the effect of affirmations on the subconscious has actually been scientifically proven many times over. Read even this article in English from Psychology Today.

From there you'll learn that just as positive affirmations work, unfortunately negative ones do as well, so avoid thoughts like "I don't have the motivation" or "I don't have the energy." You do!

Don't use expressions like "I should" and "I could." Instead, say right away: "I'll do it on Wednesday."

Or start by drawing a happy face on a piece of paper right now and sticking it on your computer monitor.

Look at what information environment you're in

You know how the quickest way to get your spirits down? Read news from the web, scroll Facebook, and participate in a coffee break conversation on the topic "A new recession is coming and everything is falling apart".

Surely you have colleagues who can see something positive in everything and never complain or do it very rarely and even then in jest. In the company of such people, you'll never lose motivation, but you'll gain a lot of inspiration for action.

Enroll yourself in a course where you'll definitely meet like-minded people who want to develop just like you do. The course can be from a completely different field, it doesn't have to be related to real estate at all. Happy developments in one area of life are contagious to others, and you won't have any trouble finding motivation in your everyday work then. You simply want to get better!

Ultimately, it's up to you to decide what kind of year you'll have and how motivated you'll be. Use our advice and you'll see – lack of motivation stayed in the past year.
