How to Make Your Home Beautiful and Cozy for Autumn

Many people think autumn is the most beautiful season of the year. When you look at the play of colors that is happening in nature right now, you simply cannot argue with that. But why not enjoy all this beauty within your home as well? Make your home cozy and comfortable for autumn, where after a tiring workday or a nice nature walk with family and friends, you can enjoy warm food and good company.
Time of Abundance
When decorating your home for autumn, the focus is on creating warmth, coziness, and abundance. Autumn is the season for harvesting, and you can take advantage of this when decorating your home.
Arrange apples and pears on a large platter and create beautiful combinations of pumpkins and squash in different sizes and color tones. If you don't have them from your own garden, take a trip to the market and buy some fancy Cinderella carriages. In addition to pumpkins speaking of abundance and the upcoming Halloween season, they add joyful colors to your home.
You can make table decorations from pumpkins or place them in the entryway as a nice display to greet guests. Or why not take on a fun project with your children to make Halloween decorations and pumpkin lanterns. You can find instructions here.
By the way, a pumpkin that has been hollowed out from the inside can be used wonderfully as a vase. Cut the lid off the top of the pumpkin and scrape it out. Collect branches, twigs, or other plants from the forest that haven't completely withered yet, and you'll have a beautiful autumn table or floor decoration.

Play of Colors
You can bring abundance and colors into your room together using berries on branches. Rowan berries work well for this, and even better are aronia berries – in addition to their beautiful black berries, they have reddish leaves in many tones. Simply gorgeous! Choose a sufficiently large vase or pitcher for the branches that won't tip over and visually balances the large branch arrangement.
Collect colorful tree leaves with children and/or your partner from the forest or park, and spend a pleasant afternoon creating wall decorations. Glue the leaves onto a backing, frame them, and hang this masterpiece on your entryway or kitchen wall.
The colors of vegetables, fruits, berries, and tree leaves create a pleasant warm energy in your home, which you can enhance even more with warm blankets and throws.
Warmth and Softness
Wool and other blankets and throws made from natural materials add warmth to your home both visually and literally. What could be more pleasant than reading a book in dark weather wrapped in a warm blanket. It's especially nice to read interior design blogs or browse home decoration books. Have blankets ready at all seating areas and reading nooks.
If you have a fireplace, stove, or oven in your home, then even if you don't actually make a fire, keep beautiful wood baskets filled with firewood nearby. This creates a cozy homey feeling and the knowledge that if it gets a bit chilly, you can make a fire and drink hot cocoa by its warmth.
If you enjoy crafting, you can cover your chairs with more seasonal and warmer fabrics. This only takes a little time and an effective staple gun. Look at a simple tutorial on how to do it, buy some white braided sweaters from a thrift store, and get started. No one will have such comfortable chairs!
Besides the colors and garden abundance, there is one more pleasant thing about autumn – it's time to light candles! This autumn, buy dark candles, such as blue, red, and dark green ones, and arrange them into beautiful groups on a tray. Add rowan berries or sea buckthorn branches next to them – and autumn is brought into your home!
