Kihnu Veeteed to Manage New Pärnu Luxury Yacht Marina
Kihnu Veeteed, which operates inter-island connections, is opening an office in Pärnu's developing Vanasadam project and expanding its areas of operation by taking over the management of a new marina being built as part of the development.
The company, which is moving to the Vanasadam quarter in autumn, invested in almost 100 square meters of office space primarily due to the strategic location of the development, announced Kihnu Veeteed, which operates ferry traffic between the islands and the mainland.
"We searched long and thoroughly for the right office location, and Vanasadam was a clear choice," said Jaak Kaabel, member of the board of Kihnu Veeteed. "As a maritime company, being in close proximity to a marina and the city's main artery is a rare privilege."
In addition to the location, Kaabel highlighted the underground parking as an important advantage, which is an important asset for the growing Pärnu city center. "Parking is a challenge in Pärnu, and Vanasadam's underground solution is not only practical, but also intelligently designed below the waterline," said Kaabel.
The office building is still under construction, so the company plans to move in October.
Business expansion
Kihnu Veeteed, which offers ferry traffic on five different routes, is also expanding its field of activity by moving to the Vanasadam quarter, adding port management to its core services.
"Our future office is twenty steps from the pier. It is an ideal location for yachts and smaller vessels – close to the city center, but well protected from wind and waves," said Kaabel about the marina that opens in July as part of the development and which the company will manage. "Unlike open sea or a cargo port, this marina offers safe shelter in any weather."
Kenneth Karpov, spokesperson for Vanasadam Development, noted that Kihnu Veeteed's move to the development is a major strategic step forward for both the city and the development.
"We are proud to help shape Pärnu's future," said Karpov. "The opening of Kihnu Veeteed's office in the Vanasadam area significantly strengthens the development's position as an important maritime, tourism and business center. We are creating a new gateway to the sea for Pärnu and Estonia."
Future Pärnu attraction center
Vanasadam quarter is one of Pärnu's most ambitious urban renewal projects, transforming the historic port area into a lively district, comprising residential units, businesses, public spaces and maritime infrastructure. The first building at Kalda 4 will be completed in the summer of 2025, offering 64 apartments, guest apartments and commercial spaces.
The entire development consists of three buildings and a pedestrian-friendly urban space between them. The quarter is designed to become a center of attraction for Pärnu's economic and cultural life in the future.
More than half of the apartments in the first building are already reserved. The total cost of the project exceeds 45 million euros, and future buildings are planned at addresses Kalda 6 and 8, creating a total of over 130 apartments and commercial spaces.
