Spring Cleaning Simply and Easily
Have you noticed how high the sun already is? We noticed it a couple of days ago when the sun tried to peek into the room through the dust that had accumulated on the windows during winter. Yes, it's time to think about spring cleaning.
Let's go through some tasks that should be done in spring to sweep away the dust and dirt that has accumulated over winter. We'll give you some helpful tips.
Oh yes, before you get started on the work, simply tidy up your rooms first. This means putting things away, otherwise cleaning won't amount to much. And definitely put on rubber gloves before you start cleaning.
Change the curtains
In spring, the whole home could get a fresh look and the easiest way to do it is to replace the curtains and other textiles. Choose lighter materials and brighter tones and spring will seem to be already in your room.
The curtains you took down, wash them clean or take them to the dry cleaner. You can boldly take roller curtains to the shower.

Clean the windows
Window cleaning is a topic you can hear about in every company break room in spring. "Lord, I'm going to clean the windows this weekend!" – "Oh, don't even talk about it, I wasted my whole last Saturday on it: I have sixteen windows and half of them are floor to ceiling!"
Actually, it's not so bad if you use the right tools and don't stress too much.
Along with the windows, you should also clean the windowsills – start with those first. We believe you've been carefully dusting them every week, but if you go over them once with a cleaning paste or dishwashing liquid, you won't even believe where all that dirt came from. Clean the window frames as well.
Choose a day for window cleaning when the sun is not shining directly through the window. Add glass cleaner to the water (vinegar or dishwashing liquid also works) and wash the windows from top to bottom. Use a window cleaning brush with a telescopic handle for this and then dry the windows. Now comes the best tip of all: definitely buy yourself a rubber squeegee and we promise you that your life will never be the same again. Window cleaning won't seem like a horrible punishment to you then, just simply a task. Honestly!

Clean the work surfaces and cabinet tops
Work surfaces and cabinet tops are pretty much the same story as windowsills – you do tidy your kitchen after every meal, but occasionally all the surfaces need to be properly scrubbed with dishwashing liquid to remove the grease and dust buildup that gets to the tops of the kitchen cabinets.
Tackle the oven and refrigerator
Cleaning the oven is the kind of task we usually do when we're looking for a distraction to avoid something uncomfortable – for example, when you have to study for a French exam, cleaning the oven suddenly seems like a great idea! Joking aside, this task isn't so bad if you use the right tools. An old good baking soda or a special oven cleaning product comes to the rescue. We vote for the homemade and healthier baking soda in any case. Let it sit in the oven for a while and then clean the oven.
You can clean the refrigerator with a vinegar solution.
Ceilings and cobwebs
There are many more important things in life than constantly going around the ceilings and room corners with a duster, so we completely understand you if a spider occasionally feels quite comfortable somewhere with its web. But spring cleaning season has arrived and they have to go.
Wash the walls
You don't have to tackle the entire wall at once. It's enough if you wash off the scratches, and the whole room will have a nice fresh appearance.
Tackle the soft furniture
Yes, that means taking the soft furniture outside and giving it a good beating, or if you can't do that, then making a lot of noise with a vacuum cleaner for a long time. To refresh the couch, you can sprinkle a little damp baking soda on it before turning on the vacuum.
Bathroom walls
We saved the most tedious cleaning for last. If you have a larger bathroom with a lot of ceramic tiles that come into contact with water every day, then we recommend calling in a professional who will get your bathroom gleaming quickly.
But if you decide to tackle the tiles yourself, use a 5% vinegar solution for this. Dampen the surfaces, apply the solution to the walls and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Now scrub and finally rinse the walls with cold water.
Carpets
Start by beating them. Then put smaller washable carpets in the washing machine and take the larger ones to the dry cleaner or outside, where you can give them a fresh look with water and soap yourself.
That's how simple it was! Now you can let the bright spring sun shine nicely through the window and light up even the last corner of the room without anything catching your eye unpleasantly.
