Keila Allika Homes Held a Roof-Raising Party
Last Thursday, November 21st, the topping-out ceremony was held for Allika Kodud, a 5-story modern apartment building rising in Keila. The building with multiple green values will feature a rare green roof in Estonia, and its walls will be covered with vertical greenery and an automatic irrigation system. The topping-out ceremony was conducted by Scandium Kinnisvara project manager Madis Lett and Tesron Ehitus CEO Kaspar Viks.
Allika Kodud is an attractive 5-story terraced building with 25 apartments that is being built right next to Keila town center's Central Park on Allika Street. What distinguishes this building from other local and capital city buildings is the large amount of green areas. The building will feature a green roof and green walls covered with plants. The green roof functions like a park amid the asphalt streets. It helps to regulate stormwater runoff on the city network and water utilities. In addition, it keeps the city air cleaner. As a third benefit, the green roof does not attract as much heat from the sun as a black roof would, and it also protects against winter cold.
Maido Lüiste, partner and head of Scandium Kinnisvara: "Keila has experienced a real developmental leap in recent years and continues to develop steadily. The new Keila Center under construction will bring abundant recreational opportunities to the city. Young families who want to move to a more modern building and a larger apartment are looking favorably in this direction, as prices in the capital tend to remain unaffordable for the same quality. I believe that Allika Kodud, which will be completed already in spring, is an excellent opportunity to live in the heart of the city, close to nature. To enable as car-free a lifestyle as possible, we have created plenty of bicycle and stroller parking spaces so that small town living can be enjoyed in a green way. The fast train connection to the capital brings Keila residents to the heart of Tallinn in just 25 minutes. For example, commuting by car from Nõmme takes considerably longer in the morning!"
Kaspar Viks, CEO of Tesron Ehitus: "Construction on the site has been progressing smoothly and we are staying on schedule to hand over apartments to homebuyers in the second half of spring. This multi-green-option building in Keila city center will definitely stand out from the others and enhance the cityscape. I believe that the new homebuyers will feel very comfortable here!"
