Useful Tip: Clean Your Chimneys in Fall!

Since Estonia's changeable climate means the heating season can start in the coming weeks, it's the last moment to prepare for the heating period. So chimneys need cleaning!

Typically, homes are heated starting in September. "Even if the days are still warm, the night moisture needs to be heated out, and by that time all maintenance work should be completed," said Elari Udam, member of the board of Pindi Real Estate Management.

The most common maintenance work related to the heating period is chimney sweeping, heating system flushing, and gas boiler cleaning.

"We strongly recommend not leaving these tasks for the heating period, as then the waiting lists for master craftsmen are weeks long, and a half-warm or smoke-filled room is not pleasant for anyone," added Udam.
