Invego Brings First Developer Package for Seniors to Market

Invego is introducing the first package aimed at seniors among Estonian real estate developers, with special solutions that make a new home more accessible, comfortable, and secure.

According to Invego's CEO Kristjan-Thor Vähi, people of mature age have somewhat different expectations and needs for their homes compared to, for example, families with children, but corresponding options have not been particularly offered when purchasing new homes. "When children have left home, a spacious detached house or large family apartment can easily become burdensome in several ways, and instead, people often choose a smaller and more comfortable home. The number of home buyers of solid age is growing and people want to enjoy the quality of life offered by a brand new modern home," says Vähi, emphasizing that the special solutions in the senior package make everyday life easier today, while at the same time making the new home so-called future-proof, so that it would be pleasant to live there even as needs change over time.

Within the framework of the senior package, one can choose for a new home, for example, electrical outlets positioned higher, automatically activated night point lighting, handrails in corridors, leveled door thresholds, and a master switch that controls all lights at once. The kitchen can include, for example, an oven and dishwasher positioned higher, and the bathroom can feature a non-slip floor, a spacious shower area, and other comfort solutions. Additionally, it is possible to separately agree on solutions for people with mobility or other special needs, for example, adapting the home for wheelchair movement.

According to Invego's CEO, it is important that comfort and safety are supported not only by the home itself but also by the entire surrounding living environment. "A home is chosen for years and it is always worth looking, in addition to the apartment layout, at how convenient it is to enter and exit, move around, and organize your daily life. These are all small details whose importance a person feels in a new home more and more with each day," says Vähi, emphasizing that all apartment buildings built by Invego have elevators and convenient parking spaces, while around the buildings there are car-free recreational areas and illuminated pathways. He adds that when creating the senior package, the needs of people of different ages and different lifestyles were thoroughly mapped out, and several partners were also involved for better results. For example, Invego's cooperation partner Medi offers interested parties a convenient emergency call service, with which one can call for help with a single button press in case of a health issue or other unexpected problem.

"A new home, even if it is, for example, smaller than before, must expand a person's life, not limit it. The whole idea of the senior package is to make everyday life simpler and leave more time to enjoy life. To be honest, I believe that some of the special solutions may also be of interest to younger home buyers," explains Vähi and adds that the solutions in the senior package can be selected by the home buyer based on their wishes, either individually or as a package.
