Invego Builds New Large-Scale Residential District in Riga with First Phase Investment of 38 Million Euros
Real estate developer Invego is building a large-scale multi-phase residential area in Riga called Nordale, with the first phase investing 38 million euros in the construction of 159 homes and commercial spaces.
Nordale is one of the most ambitious residential development projects in Riga in recent years, transforming a multi-hectare Bikernieki forest area in the Mežciems district and the historic Riga Cinema Studio area into modern urban space. "We are bringing the best practices and characteristics of the world's most livable cities to Riga, and with Nordale we are marking a completely new chapter in Latvian residential development. The specific location offers a unique opportunity to unite architecture, nature, and community in a distinctive way," describes Invego's head Kristjan-Thor Vähi.
The development will be completed in phases, and each phase will have its own architectural identity, created with the involvement of different international architect teams, whose vision will shape a diverse and vibrant community. The project will create functional homes of the future with spacious balconies and terraces, green courtyards, and designs that value natural light.
Nordale is designed as a residential area where forest tranquility is woven together with contemporary Nordic architecture. The area is surrounded by pine forests and natural sand dunes, which create a special balance between urban accessibility and a nature-centered lifestyle. A promenade with cafes, shops, and services is planned in the center of the quarter, connecting the area to the nearby Akropole Alfa shopping center. Car-free zones between residential buildings create a safe and flexible urban space that allows convenient movement throughout the quarter, prioritizing pedestrians and cyclists.
