Infortar Started Construction of Pärnu Bridge

INF Infra OÜ and AS EG Ehitus, engineering and construction companies belonging to the investment company Infortar Group, today began construction of a new bridge in Pärnu on behalf of the Pärnu City Government.

According to Pärnu Mayor Romek Kosenkranius, construction of the long-awaited bridge is now beginning in earnest. "From the city's side, the construction contract and construction permit have been issued, and our bridge construction partner's start has been impressively rapid – we wish strength to the builders," noted Kosenkranius.

"We are starting today with riverbank excavation and cofferdam construction, we plan to complete some of the road work during this summer, and in autumn we will begin laying the bridge foundations," noted Robert Sinikas, member of the management board of INF Infra OÜ.

"We are using innovative solutions and technologies in the construction of the Pärnu bridge, our goal is to disturb the lives of city residents as little as possible – initially we can do the work in such a way that we only redirect the light traffic path, the so-called Jaansoni road," said Sinikas.

The new Pärnu bridge will become Estonia's longest bridge with a 140-meter main span. Currently, Estonia's longest span bridges are the Rannu-Jõesuu and Ihaste bridges, both with a longest span of 90 meters. The span of the new Pärnu bridge will exceed the current longest span bridges by one and a half times. In addition, the new Pärnu bridge will also become the longest network arch bridge in the Baltics and Finland.

The Pärnu City Government concluded a 26.7 million euro design and construction contract with engineering and construction companies belonging to the Infortar Group for the construction of the new Pärnu bridge on May 24 of this year. The bridge should be completed in just 22 months, by spring 2025.

Infortar holds a 40 percent stake in AS Tallink Grupp, 100 percent stake in AS Eesti Gaas, and a diverse and modern real estate portfolio.

Closely related to real estate are the construction companies belonging to Infortar – EG Ehitus, INF Ehitus and INF Infra – and the Estonian Mineral Resources Group, which owns one of the larger portfolios of construction raw materials. The construction companies belonging to Infortar have built several complex infrastructure projects, including the Balticconnector connecting Estonia and Finland, and three biogas plants. In general construction, the company has five projects underway, the largest of which is Rimi's new logistics center in Saue and an office building in Tallinn on Liivalaia Street.
