Real estate developer Invego is building a comprehensive 26,000 m2 business quarter called Volta1 on the site of the former Franz Krull machine factory. The first phase will be completed as early as September. The entire quarter will be completed by the end of 2022 and will cost 30 million euros.

"The new quarter's central location between Noblessner and Telliskivi creative district adds a lot to the overall development of the entire area," said Invego's manager Kristjan-Thor Vähi, pointing out that Volta1 borders two large residential areas under construction, Volta Quarter and Krull Quarter.

According to Vähi, demand for office space in the Kalamaja area has been growing. "Over the past year, there has been a noticeable increase in people's desire to work in the same area as their residence, to create better synergy between office and home office formats," Vähi said. At the corner of Kopli and Volta streets, Volta1 will require the renovation of the former Tallinn Machine Factory administrative building in the first phase, which will house a total of 6,000 m2 of office and commercial space, parking spaces and a secure bicycle parking lot with 65 spaces. The first phase construction work will be carried out by Nordecon Betoon (NOBE) and will be completed by the end of September 2021.

In the second phase, the limestone Krull machine factory production building built at the end of the previous century will be renovated along with an adjacent building with a total volume of 20,000 m2, hundreds of parking spaces will be created for both cars and bicycles, and a pedestrian street running through the quarter will be built.

The authors of the Volta1 project are architects Kaur Talpsep (Kauss Architecture) and Martin Aunin.

Invego is one of Estonia's leading real estate development companies, which has built over 1,100 homes and more than 24,000 m2 of commercial space in Tallinn and its surroundings in recent years. Among the projects currently under development, the most well-known are Tiskreoja, Tabasalu Home and Luccaranna residential area.
