Estonia's Largest Road Maintenance Association Got a New Name – Estonian Infrastructure Construction Association

Estonia's largest road maintenance association has a new name – Estonian Infrastructure Construction Association
At the general meeting of the Asphalt Association, which brings together road construction companies founded in 1991, the organization's new name was confirmed as Estonian Infrastructure Construction Association (ESTEL).
According to Sven Pertens, chairman of the board of the Estonian Infrastructure Construction Association, the association, which was originally dedicated primarily to asphalt and related matters, has grown to become the most influential association uniting road maintenance companies and engineers today. "ESTEL's scope of administration and activities have grown significantly over time, and we decided that the new name should more broadly represent the association's and its members' activities," said Pertens.
"ESTEL consists of the largest employers in its field and addresses a broader question – how to make Estonia a country with Europe's best road infrastructure in 20 years. Proper infrastructure is extremely important both for the country's competitiveness and for creating investments and jobs, and it affects the safety and well-being of every Estonian person," added Pertens.
In addition to creating laws and regulations affecting the field, training, construction, design, material production and sales, road maintenance, owner supervision and laboratory services, ESTEL and its members also deal with the sale of technologies, machinery and equipment in the road maintenance sector as well as in broader infrastructure construction.
The Estonian Infrastructure Construction Association consists of 45 companies and organizations and 17 road engineers as private individuals. The chairman of the organization's board is Sven Pertens, head of TREV-2 Grupp AS, and vice-chairman Andres Gailit, head of Tref AS. The board also includes Veiko Veskimäe, head of Verston Ehitus OÜ, Jüri Läll, head of Tallinna Teede AS, Tarvi Kliimask, head of GRK Infra AS, Marek Koit, member of the council of Üle OÜ, and Ain Pähkel, head of Atemo OÜ.
