Czech Investment Bank to Finance Baltic Real Estate Projects Through Estateguru
Czech investment bank J&T Banka has signed an agreement with crowdfunding platform Estateguru to finance real estate-backed loans in the Baltics.
J&T Banka's decision to actively invest in real estate projects in the Baltic countries is a continuation of successful cooperation with Estateguru that began in September of last year, when the bank invested 2.5 million euros in loans from Finland and Germany through the platform.
"We consider the potential for investing in the Baltic countries to be high precisely due to the platform's good results in the region so far and extensive experience and expertise," said Tomáš Klimíček, member of the board of J&T Banka, commenting on the expansion of cooperation with Estateguru.
Judith Tan, head of capital markets at Estateguru, noted that in addition to the loyalty of more than 155,000 retail investors, the platform has also attracted several institutional investors who recognize the attractiveness of the company's business model. "With proven success in the Baltics, we have issued a total of 500 million euros in loans, of which 344 million euros have been successfully repaid to date at an average interest rate of 10.98%. Such results have made our platform increasingly preferred," said Tan.
In discussing Estateguru's institutional partners, Tan also highlighted German bank Varengold Bank, which has invested 19.5 million euros in Estateguru Baltic loans since 2018. The partner's trust in the platform's stability and growth potential is also evidenced by the fact that even in conditions of economic turbulence and the Covid pandemic, Varengold Bank has remained committed to investing in Estateguru loans and has earned an average annual return of 10.3% on its investments. Currently, the volume of their loans, primarily directed at residential projects, is 3.9 million euros.
Estateguru is a leading pan-European platform that offers real estate-backed loans to small and medium-sized enterprises and carefully selected investment opportunities to the international investor community. We are developing a borderless digital ecosystem for real estate financing and investments that would operate throughout Europe and beyond. The company's team includes approximately 80 professionals from 12 different nationalities based at headquarters in Tallinn, Helsinki, London, Riga, Vilnius, and Berlin.
