Yesterday, the cornerstone was laid for the second phase of construction of the Uuskalamehe residential quarter located on the banks of the Pärnu River. It is a neighborhood with an atmosphere similar to Tallinn's Telliskivi or Tartu's Aparaaditehas, where a total of 69 residential apartments will be built. The first 26 apartments have already been sold, construction and sales of the second phase apartments are underway, and they will be completed in the summer of 2026.

According to Ingmar Saksing, member of the board of LVM Kinnisvara, the entire Uuskalamehe residential quarter will be completed in three phases. "The Uuskalamehe homes have met market demand very well, and both construction and sales have proceeded according to plan. From the start of construction of the first phase until its completion, it took us exactly one year, and we also plan to move at the same pace with the second phase," he commented on the current state of the development.

Saksing explains the success of the Uuskalamehe quarter by the fact that until now, the seafront and the coastal area have undoubtedly been the first choice of the demanding buyer in Pärnu, but today the situation has changed somewhat - life is flowing to the riverside. "In recent years, the city center area has developed rapidly, a third bridge was also opened, which brought a fresh impetus for development to the Rääma area. The coastal zone, on the other hand, has many restrictions and few vacant plots suitable for building modern living environments – but the buyer wants something new and contemporary. This combination has led to active construction activity on the banks of the Pärnu River," he explained.

The new apartments being completed in the Kalamehe quarter, which already has an active community, make up approximately one tenth of the entire Pärnu residential apartment market currently in active sales, according to Saksing. The 69 apartments created by architect11 take into account the wishes of a more demanding homebuyer, combining privacy, greenery, a riverside location, and easy connection to the city center. The first phase saw the completion of smaller 2-3 room apartments, now larger 4-5 room apartments are being added.
