In Haapsalu's largest residential development of the century, Scandium Real Estate concluded a construction contract with Mitt & Perlebach. The groundbreaking will take place in February. The first phase of the development will be completed in spring 2025.

The much-praised Marienholm development will feature waterfront apartments with panoramic sea views, boat houses and small boat docks, a café, a park area, and in the future also a prestigious SPA hotel. The peninsula, located on the shore of Suur Viik in Haapsalu, was opened to the public a year ago after being closed off by gates for decades.

Maido Lüiste, CEO of Scandium Real Estate: "The Marienholm project is significant and inspiring for the entire development of Läänemaa. Customer interest has been strong and the team working on Marienholm in terms of architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture represents the very best of Estonia. It's excellent to now begin constructing the buildings with a strong, quality, and reliable partner like Mitt & Perlebach. Road construction has been under Tariston AS's supervision since November. For the first building, Mitt & Perlebach will break ground in February."

Kristjan Mitt, member of the board of Mitt & Perlebach: "The Haapsalu Marienholm project is very special both in terms of location and architecture. We are building houses directly on the seashore in Haapsalu, which must withstand winds and storms while also fitting into the environment. The project is high-profile and we are confident that the result will be entirely worthy of it."

"It's wonderful to see that a year after the peninsula opened to the public, people's interest in the area is very high. Visitors and curious people pass through here daily. The opening of the boutique hotel Tiny Marienholm with seven mirror houses at the beginning of the peninsula has also given a big boost to this, which we completed last summer. The goal is to transform the area into an attractive destination for both locals and visitors, where one can live, walk, do sports, and spend leisure time. We can see that this transformation is already happening," commented Lüiste.

The authors of the Marienholm development are 3+1 architects under the direction of Scandium Real Estate, interior architects from KAMP bureau, and Tajuruum landscape architects. The first waterfront apartments will be completed in spring 2025. Half of the apartments in the first phase have already been sold.
