Airport City AS is starting construction of new aircraft maintenance and repair hangars in the southern area of Tallinn Airport, with a total area of 11,000 m² and a total investment of approximately 14 million euros. Two of the three hangars are already covered by rental agreements concluded with the international aviation company Magnetic MRO AS.

"Demand for this type of real estate is growing," confirmed Teet Raudsep, Chairman of the Board of Airport City AS. "The aviation industry needs modern and efficient solutions, and our new project addresses exactly this need. The investment supports aviation development in Estonia by offering new opportunities for both local and international aviation sector companies," added Raudsep.

According to Jan Kotka, Operations Director of Magnetic Group, since 2023 aviation has fully recovered from the post-COVID crisis and there are currently 30,000 commercial aircraft flying worldwide, for which there is still insufficient maintenance capacity. "We are extremely pleased to share the long-awaited news about Magnetic MRO's new hangars in Tallinn, and it must be noted that clients have already pre-booked the hangars for their aircraft before construction has even begun. This clearly demonstrates our clients' trust and strong demand for quality maintenance services. This enables us to grow rapidly and serve even more international clients who might otherwise not come to Tallinn, thereby contributing to aviation growth and reputation in the entire region."

The construction contract for building the hangars was concluded with NOBE. "This project is an exciting challenge for us. Our dedicated team is ready to apply all our expertise and resources to ensure a smooth and professional construction process and quality final result. We are confident that in cooperation with Airport City AS, we will be able to create a world-class building that meets all modern standards," said Priit Nigols, Board Member of NOBE.

Construction of the hangars will begin in autumn 2024, with an expected completion date at the end of 2025. The new hangars offer innovative solutions, being more energy-efficient than the previous hangars built at Tallinn Airport and meeting high international standards, thereby contributing to the development of the airport and Airport City business district.
