Construction Company Nordecon Opened a Public Square and Playground at Seiler Quarter on the Banks of Pärnu River
Pärnu Deputy Mayor Irina Talviste, City Council Chairman Siim Suursild and Nordecon Board Member Tarmo Pohlak opened a new riverside public area and playground in Pärnu's Seiler Quarter development today, which is expected to welcome both Pärnu residents and visitors to the city.
According to Tarmo Pohlak, Board Member of Nordecon, which is developing the Seiler Quarter, the first phase of the Seiler Quarter is complete and today's opening of the riverside public area and playground is one part of the plan to make the right bank of the Pärnu River an attractive living environment. "Until now, the main focus and investment in Pärnu has been directed to the left bank of the river, which runs through the city center, but the Seiler Quarter being completed on the right bank and the new so-called 'Rääma Bridge' opening before Midsummer will bring new winds and quality urban space here as well," he noted.
The playground is located on the bank of the Pärnu River, along the Jaanson health sports trail and is part of the Seiler Quarter development, which is being built and developed by Nordecon AS. On the opening day, there were plenty of people – joy was brought by boat rides across the river to the food street, free ice cream and a special guest, Bug Jack from the Inventor's Village!
Pärnu Deputy Mayor Irina Talviste: "It is wonderful that the developer looks at the bigger picture of urban space and has enriched it with a playground designed for all children. Hopefully, such a worthy deed will inspire others in the future as well."
The Seiler Quarter, with 10 residential buildings and 133 new homes, will be built in an area that has played an important role in Pärnu's history. In the new development, the city's historical context and top-level architecture go hand in hand. In Seiler, those who wish to enjoy a peaceful living environment will find a new home, while being just a few minutes away from Pärnu's city center and beach.
Pärnu's new playground supports the city's sustainability and family-friendliness
Pärnu City Council Chairman Siim Suursild: "Pärnu, as Estonia's third largest attraction center by size, can only be sustainable if young people and families with children live here. Creating a family-friendly living environment is a priority for the city, but achieving this requires close cooperation with the private sector. The new playground opened today is an excellent example of how the private sector contributes to the city's development, filling gaps that the local municipality cannot reach alone. Pärnu City thanks its partners and invites all families to discover the new playground, so that together we can create a city where it is good to live and grow!"
