Bob W Opens a New Apartment Hotel in Krull District

Tallinn, September 7, 2026 – Bob W, a technology and artificial intelligence-based accommodation company, has signed a long-term contract to open an aparthotel in the Kru district. With this new location, Bob W is expanding its presence in Tallinn, where it opened its first hotel in 2019.

Bob W Kru will open in the first quarter of 2028 and will comprise 1900 m² of design-focused accommodation space, consisting of 34 studios, 21 one-bedroom apartments and 8 two-bedroom apartments. This will be Bob W's fifth aparthotel in Tallinn. Construction will begin in 2027.

The Bob W aparthotel will rise next to the Greenhouse, which will become Kru's future business and innovation center, bringing together startups, creative enterprises, technology accelerators, catering, retail and cultural activities. Preserving the area's industrial heritage is central to the development of Kru. Five former machine factory buildings are protected monuments, and existing structures and materials will be used in new stages of the district. A similar approach will be applied to the new Bob W aparthotel.

"In this project, reuse was not a limitation, but a starting point. The panels on three facades of the building are former ceiling panels from the neighboring historical mechanics workshop, the future Greenhouse. We wanted the new building to be a continuation of Kru's industrial past, not to replace it," said Karli Luik, architect at Molumba architecture bureau, who designed the aparthotel.

Indrek Hääl, Managing Director of Kru District, added: "With Bob W, Kru gains a partner operator who understands what makes an aparthotel work in a district like Kru. The building carries the history of the area, and Bob W's approach aligns with our philosophy of using what exists, rather than necessarily replacing it."

According to Taavi Pettai, Vice President of Bob W's real estate division, Bob W has just opened its first aparthotel in Tallinn, so continuing growth here is particularly important. "Kru is exactly the type of district we want to be in: it has a strong identity and history, but it is developing into a mixed-use neighborhood where people live, work and spend their leisure time," said Pettai. "Kru is also a good example of why it is important to join projects in their early phases. Early collaboration with partners allows us to create a building that is primarily guided by our guests, while making thoughtful decisions about design, operations and the materials we use," added Pettai.

Bob W is a technology-based accommodation company that offers a smoother alternative to conventional hotels and traditional short-term rental accommodations. The company currently operates in 12 countries (Estonia, Finland, Austria, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom).
