Art Life Intensifies in Fahle Park with the Establishment of the WhiteDove.Art Cultural Foundation
Fahle business quarter art gallery hosted yesterday evening the solemn establishment of the Art and Culture Fund WhiteDove.Art and the presentation of the art collection "Freedom in the 21st Century" as a gift to the representative of SA Estonian Art Museum, art museum board member, Ms. Sirje Helme.
One of the leaders and founders of WhiteDove.Art Art and Culture Fund is artist Jaak Visnap, who has been at the helm of various cultural projects, galleries and festivals for over twenty years. It was during the Ukraine war that he felt Estonia needed such a fund that could elevate our small nation through culture. "If we didn't have culture, we wouldn't need our country either!" believes Visnap.
At the ceremonial event in Fahle Park, a art collection compiled by the WhiteDove.Art Fund was handed over to Sirje Helme, a member of the board of Kumu Art Museum. The collection contains 21 works by our recognized contemporary artists inspired by freedom, and through them, Estonia's independence story is told to the world.
The art collection features works by the following artists: Raul Meel, Jüri Arrak, Marko Mäetamm, Kiwa, Liisa Kruusmägi, Priit Pärn, Laurentsius, Urmas Viik, Navitrolla, Hardi Volmer, Kadri Kangilaski, Evi Tihemets, Peeter Allik, Jaan Toomik, Ivar Kaasik, Tarrvi Laamann, August Künnapu, Maarit Murka, Kadri Alesmaa, Jaak Visnap and Leonhard Lapin.
The new price of the art collection will henceforth be symbolically the same as Estonia's population according to the latest official census.
With each collection sold, the Fund will begin to support twelve culture and art projects. Among the initial twelve projects are exciting projects such as the "Academy of the Untalented", "Random Pictures Production", Mark Kalev Kostabi center in Tallinn, Tarrvi Laamann's co-creation center in Jamaica and others. The audience attending the event was able to choose their favorite project from among the twelve projects, which turned out to be the Kihnu Naive Art Festival and the Random Pictures documentary project with equal votes.
In the evening, an exciting art auction took place, conducted by Jaak Visnap and Andres Torm. Among other things, an art investment portfolio was sold at the auction, which contained seven works whose content was unknown to the bidders.
The Fund that was created aims to find recognition and funding for contemporary Estonian art and culture projects. WhiteDove.Art preserves Estonian art and culture through existing and created art centers, film projects, exhibitions, festivals and house museums. The Fund values art, creativity, sustainable lifestyle and peace in the world.
