9 Things to Check at Home

It's common knowledge that everything goes well only when you're surrounded by an organized, cozy, clean and understandable environment. To achieve this, it will certainly take some time, but we can contribute a little too. The easiest way is to start by reducing the amount of things that need organizing. There are many things around us that we no longer need and that have served their purpose. It's time to thank those things and send them on a new journey. But what are they?

Old magazines

Yes, you know and I know that you'll never read them again. Throw them away or give them to someone who might actually need them. Sometimes antique dealers are also interested in certain magazines.

DVDs

Now, in this blessed era of digital TV and Netflix, it's unlikely that your DVD player hasn't been buried under dust. It's time to get rid of them or contact some recycling organization as well.

Read books

Look through your bookshelf and get rid of all those books that don't spark a new reading passion in you. Keep only your favorites! If you notice that the pile of used books is too large, consider visiting the library in the future instead.

Advertising flyers

Yes, you had the nice idea to look through them one day and hunt for discounts. Be honest with yourself – you won't do it anyway.

Unworn clothes

Follow the rule that anything you haven't touched in a year must go! Various flea markets are a great help, as they do the selling part for you.

Mismatched bedding

A pillowcase from one set and a duvet cover from another. These no longer bring you joy, get rid of them or take them to a collection bin.

Old cosmetics

Even if looking at them still brings you joy, by now they've accumulated a lot of bacteria and are no longer usable. Throw them in the trash with a clear conscience.

Mismatched socks

I'm afraid that other sock won't turn up after several months.

Broken things

If you haven't had time to fix them, there's a good chance they'll stay broken. Or take the time and fix them! The choice is yours.

Once you've cleared out the old things, then do a proper deep clean, read more about it here >>
