2020 Interior Design Trends Worth Bringing Into Your Home

A new decade, a new year, a new home design! January is not only a good time to start training with new vigor, but it also fits perfectly for making home renovation plans. We've compiled the most exciting interior design trends for 2020 that you should seriously consider using in your home.
Black is back
Collectedinterior.com says that black is one of the biggest trends of 2020. Black kitchen furniture, sofas, chairs, walls, dishes… anything! Black on the wall is also very cool – don't be afraid of it. Many people think it makes a room smaller, but if you use black on only one or two walls, that won't happen.
Velvet interiors
Velvet may not appeal to everyone, but this year it's definitely a very hot topic. Imagine, for example, a dark blue velvet sofa in your living room. Isn't that both comfortable and sinfully luxurious?
Black and white
The combination of black and white has been used in interior design all the time, but this year it's making a stronger push into rooms and pushing out monochromatic white interiors. A black and white floor? Black and white walls, with a brighter tone as an accent? Let your imagination run wild!
Four-poster bed
A four-poster bed creates a pleasant luxurious feeling, but at the same time very comfortable and secure. Once you've slept in such a bed, you want to do it again. When planning a canopy, however, you need to make sure that the large structure doesn't make the room too narrow and doesn't create the impression that the room is completely filled with furniture.
Buy quality bedding for the bed that will pamper you during restorative sleep. Think about how much time you spend in bed – why should you do it between cheap synthetic fabric sheets!

Biophilia (Biophilic design)
Biophilia is an interior design trend that is gaining increasing popularity. It combines human-created design with nature's design, and it features natural materials such as wood, metal, and stone. Rooms have plenty of natural light and green plants.
Nature-inspired tones
Related to the previous trend is the use of natural colors in home interiors. Forest green, clay tones, chocolate brown, ochre yellow, and other nature-inspired colors help create a calm and relaxing home.
Floral wallpapers
2020 floral wallpapers are tasteful and chic – they have nothing to do with old-fashioned wall coverings that might scare you. Modern floral wallpapers have large flowers, bold tones, and may even use metallic colors in their design.

Metals
In 2020, trendy interiors are flooded with various metals. Silver and gold, tin and copper – all find use. However, when you start mixing metals, avoid using more than three types of metal at once. Otherwise, everything becomes too confusing and there's simply too much metal.
Check out this video on how to mix metals in bathrooms and kitchens (the video is in English).
Colorful kitchen furniture instead of white
White kitchen furniture belonged to the previous decade and is now making room for color. Many interior design websites recommend using dark blue or red, bright yellow, and other bold colors in the kitchen.
Rattan furniture
Rattan is making a powerful comeback, so if your wicker furniture purchased years ago still looks very nice, you can proudly bring it back to the living room.
