11 Ways to Add Color to a Minimalist Kitchen

Many people like kitchens in subtle tones. But if grey, beige or white eventually becomes boring, it's possible to bring cheerful splashes of color to your kitchen with little effort and expense.
Paint some cabinet doors
For example, paint only the lower or upper cabinet doors in a bright color. Or do it with just a few doors, painting them cherry red or dark blue, for instance. You could have a professional do this, but it's not too complicated to try yourself either. Once you've watched a video like this one, for example, you'll definitely be able to handle the painting.
Use wallpaper
Wallpaper is an excellent tool when you want to make any room more colorful. You can use it on one wall, or if you don't mind a bit more work, why not in the entire kitchen.
Paint one wall
By changing the color of one wall, you can also bring joy to your kitchen and give it a completely new look. If the paint color doesn't feel right, you can easily paint over it again.
Buy new dining chairs or stools
Regardless of how seating is arranged in your kitchen (whether you use bar stools or have a table and chairs), replacing your current seats with colorful ones will give your kitchen a fresh new feel, as if you'd done a renovation. Think colorful mustard yellow chairs, for example.
And when you get tired of the new chairs, you can exchange them for seats in a different color. Sell the old ones at an auction site.
Buy colorful cushions for the chairs
If you don't want to replace the chairs or it's not financially sensible at the moment, you can add color to the seating area with vibrant cushions. And don't think all cushions have to be the same color! Not at all. Try different colors and see what happens. You might end up with a nice combination that puts you in a good mood just by walking into the kitchen in the morning!
Replace the light fixture(s)
Do you currently have a subtle light fixture hanging above your kitchen table or island? Replace it with a colorful one and your kitchen looks brand new.
Open shelves
You can also add color to your kitchen with open shelves. Replace one cabinet with a shelf or put a shelf where there used to be a bare wall. Display beautiful colorful kitchenware, dishes, or dried goods and spice jars.
Plants
If you don't already have plants in your kitchen, they will definitely make it more colorful. They can be herb pots or plants with lush leaves and/or flowers.
Curtains and rugs
Curtains and rugs are very helpful when you need to bring freshness or color to a room. They're easy to change with the seasons and why not with your mood as well.
The magic of small things
Choose your favorite color and replace multiple small items in your kitchen with ones in that color. For example, kitchen towels, cups, flower pot covers and so on. Just let your imagination run wild.
Orange, carrot, lemon, pepper, apple
You can continue this list according to your preferences and keep a bowl of colorful fruits or vegetables constantly on your kitchen counter or table. This is the cheapest and tastiest trick to keep your kitchen cheerfully colorful.
