10 Tips on How to Bring Spring Into Your Home

Nature is waking up more each day. The first spring flowers have opened their buds, the evenings stay light longer, and the mood seems somehow cheerier, doesn't it?
But spring doesn't have to stay outside – you can bring it into your home too. Let's talk about how to do that.
Replace your textiles
Changing textiles is always the quickest and easiest tip to give your home a new look according to the season. Remove the heavy winter-toned pillow covers from your sofa pillows and replace them with lighter ones, such as light green and light yellow ones. Also change your kitchen towels and linens.
Your curtains don't have to stay the same all year round either. We're well aware that ordering and designing curtains at a curtain salon can be one of those eternally time-consuming processes, but there's an easier way. Ready-made curtains are very beautiful and with their help it's very easy to make your room feel more spring-like. For example, think about floral kitchen curtains.

Floral and colorful dishes
Give your dish cabinet a little refresh. We all get tired of our everyday dishes from time to time, so why not bring out some new coffee cups or dinner plates with pretty tulips or daffodils painted on them. Colorful drinking glasses are also a very good idea.
Put out spring decorations
A sure sign of spring's arrival is also spring or Easter decorations. If you don't have any left from last year, don't worry – all home decor and gift shops sell them and they're available in every price range. Eggs, roosters and hens, bunnies and other classic Easter items can also be very nice and tasteful.
Buy or gather pussy willow branches
Finally, it's time for what we've been waiting for! Pussy willow branches are very decorative and definitely bring spring into your home. Buy pussy willow branches from the street corner from the flower ladies or if you live somewhere where ditches are nearby, you don't have to worry about branches – just go and pick some yourself.
Fresh flowers on the table
If you don't like pussy willow branches but still want that spring feeling, then buy fresh flowers for a vase. For example, we currently have a whole vase of Peruvian lilies on our kitchen table. They add color to a room and last a very long time in a vase.

Do a spring cleaning
Actually, you should start with this, but so we don't dampen your spirits right at the beginning, we've tucked it in here in the middle. But you know what? With modern cleaning tools, spring cleaning is very easy. We've written about them in this post.
Pack away your winter clothes
A spring feeling comes into your home also when thick sweaters, cardigans and Ugg boots are put away out of sight and sent off to wait their turn.
Create a colorful artwork on the wall with your children
Get a pile of colorful papers, old magazines or other paper materials and make a cheerful and colorful collage together with your children. If you're unsure whether it will really suit the wall, place a picture frame over the collage to test it and you'll immediately be convinced that your handiwork is art.
Buy fresh fruit for the table
Good old vitamin C helps fight spring fatigue. Keep a fruit bowl always filled. Besides the fact that oranges, apples and pears are good for your health, they're also very decorative and add color to your nice home.

Fruit tree branches in a vase
Since this is now the time for fruit tree pruning, we'll give you one more good tip. Take some of the cut branches into your home and put them in a vase. If your vase suits the branches, they'll leaf out and may even open their flowers. Cherry branches open their flowers more easily, but with good luck you might also see apple blossoms.
